Vintage Pattern Pledge 2015

I loved seeing all the beautiful clothes sewn up as part of last year's Vintage Pattern Pledge hosted by Marie of A Stitching Odyssey. This year's is even bigger and is co-hosted by Kerry of Kestrel Makes.  I've not got many vintage patterns but the ones I do have I'd love to sew up so this year I've decided to take part! Are you joining in?

I posted this pic on instagram of my four options and I still can't decide what I'm going to try first. Definitely one of the dresses but I'm not sure which one yet.  The bottom right dress got the most votes (5) followed closely by the top left (4) then the bottom left (3).  I'm torn between the top left and bottom right so I think what I'll do is look through my fabric to see what I would use for each then decide.  Are you taking part in the vintage pattern pledge? Have you sewed with a vintage pattern before? This will be my first vintage pattern.

    1. Hi Joanne, I think I'm going for the bottom right, though it's the one that I don't have any fabric for. Oh well, I'll just need to buy something! that's nice to hear that you enjoy vintage patterns now, I'm a bit nervous about using one for some reason. Looking forward to seeing your make!

  2. Top left. That would be my choice! I have just made a vintage dress for a friend's daughter. Loving the sixties and seventies myself.

    1. I do love the top left too but I actually already have a version of the bottom right which I got in a thrift store in LA and which I wear all the time in the summer so I'm going for another bottom right first! I love the dress you made for your friend's daughter, very cute!

    1. Glad you agree! Now I just need to find some suitable fabric!

  5. If you're instinctively drawn to one then go for it, even if the vote didn't support your choice. I think matching fabric with a pattern is a fab idea, you know what you'll wear most :)

    1. Thanks Jacq. I'm going with my instinct, which happens to be the bottom right with the most votes. Unfortunately also the only one I don't have a fabric in mind for.

  6. Ooh, bottom right! That triple strap at the shoulder is seriously cool.

    1. Hi Liza. It's funny, the thrift store version of this dress I bought had bright pink strips across the front and back V's. I cut them off as they were just too 80s for me but I do fancy the triple shoulder straps so I'll definitely include them!

  7. I love both of the bottom patterns, so pretty and versatile! I've sewn with one pattern from the 60s, it was definitely different, holes in the tissue paper marked the pieces, not printed lines.

    1. Hi Zoe! Yes I'm expecting the pattern to be quite different, I'm also not even sure all the pieces are there, ah that suddenly just occurred to me, I'll need to go check!
